Boarding School
Stop Googling "Best Boarding Schools." Let's Actually Find the Right One.
Rankings won't tell you if a school is right for your kid. We will. We match based on who they are — not who looks good on paper. Then we handle everything from application to move-in day.
First Time Considering Boarding School?
Most of our families are in the same position. Your child has never lived away from home, and you're not sure if they're ready. That's exactly where we start — understanding your child's independence level, personality, and what kind of environment will help them thrive, not just survive.
We've placed students who had never spent a night away from their parents. Every one of them had a support plan built before they arrived.
Why Most Families Get This Wrong
Prestige is nice. Fit is what actually matters.
A Top-Ranked School Can Be the Wrong School
The school where your kid will grow isn't always the one with the fanciest brochure. Prestige is easy to measure. Fit is harder — but it's what actually determines whether your student thrives or struggles.
Your Kid Isn't a Template
Independence level, social style, academic strengths, emotional readiness — it all varies. A good placement accounts for the actual human, not the application. Generic shortlists produce generic results.
Getting In Is the Easy Part
Thriving after arrival? That takes preparation, guidance, and someone in your corner who doesn't ghost you after the acceptance letter. Most agencies celebrate enrollment and move on.
How We Actually Do This
Three steps. No spreadsheets handed over without context.
- 01
We Get to Know Your Kid
Personality, academic profile, goals, what keeps them up at night, what lights them up. Independence level, social style, emotional readiness. This conversation shapes everything that follows.
- 02
A Real Shortlist, Not a Spreadsheet
3–5 schools, each with a clear reason why it's a match. Not "here's 40 options, good luck." Every school on the list is there because of your kid specifically — academics, culture, location, support structures.
- 03
Applications Through Move-In Day
Applications, essay strategy, interview prep, F-1 visa guidance, SEVIS compliance, school onboarding — the whole thing. Your family never has to figure out the next step alone.
Most families go from first call to enrollment in 6–8 weeks.
What We're Actually Evaluating
Six areas that determine whether a boarding school placement works long-term.
Academic Fit & Program Strength
Learning style and academic level matched to the right curriculum, pace, and support structures. We look at AP/IB availability, class sizes, and teacher-to-student ratios.
International Student Support
Real infrastructure — dedicated international student advisors, ESL resources, cultural programming, and staff who understand the transition your student is making.
Campus Culture & Community
Social environment, how welcoming the school is to international students, how the community connects. Your child needs to feel at home — not tolerated.
Extracurricular & Athletic Opportunities
Sports, arts, robotics, community service — schools where they can pursue what they love outside the classroom, not just survive the academic load.
Location, Access & Safety
Proximity to major airports, access to nearby cities and activities, campus safety protocols, and the character of the surrounding community.
College Counseling Infrastructure
For families planning a university pathway, we evaluate the school's college counseling team, documented placement rates, and experience guiding international students through U.S. college applications.

How is your shortlist different from just Googling "best boarding schools"?
Rankings measure reputation and endowment. We measure fit. A top-50 school on a list is irrelevant if your student doesn't thrive there. Our shortlist accounts for learning style, academic level, international student support infrastructure, campus culture, extracurricular strengths, and budget — and every school comes with a clear explanation of why it made the cut.
What does boarding school actually cost?
Boarding school tuition and fees typically run $28,950–$75,000+ per year depending on the school's tier, location, and program. That usually includes room and board. Our budget calculator lets you model real numbers based on program, region, and add-ons — no need to fill out a form to find out if you're in the right ballpark.
My child has never lived away from home. Is boarding school the right call?
It depends entirely on the student. Boarding school isn't right for everyone — and we'll tell you that plainly on the first call if we think day school or J-1 is a better fit. If boarding is the right call, we match based on how independent they are now, what support structures the school has, and how close the school is to a family touchpoint.
What support will my child have after arrival?
Our job doesn't end at enrollment. We stay in contact with the school, do regular check-ins with your student, and are the point of contact if something's off — the fit, the dorm, homesickness, academic pressure. If the placement needs to change, we make it happen. You're never left managing a problem alone from overseas.
Can boarding school lead to a U.S. university?
Yes — and for many families that's exactly the goal. We match students with schools that have strong college counseling infrastructure, documented university placement records, and the AP/IB options that build the right transcript. If a four-year university pathway is what you're planning, we build the shortlist with that in mind from day one.
